Orden und Militaria bis 1918
| 279 Gebhard Leberecht Fürst Blücher von Wahlstatt (1742 - 1819) – an impressive Meissen centrepiece with Wedgwood friezes, circa 1800/10 White, glazed porcelain with coloured and gold paintwork, made of several pieces. Triangular form, the pedestal with pale blue Wedg- wood friezes, embellished with putti and decorative nubs. Above which, in the three cartouches, Fürst Blücher’s hand-painted coat of arms with an ermine border, attached PLM and Grand Cross of the Iron Cross 1813, the two other cartouches with the Pour le Mérite and the Grand Cross of the Iron Cross 1813, surrounded by laurel friez- es, surmounted by lion’s head mascarons with laurel garlands. Three fully sculptured putti on the side. The separate upper part with a gold rim, the base plate for the bowl piece mounted on three ram’s heads. The bowl in matching colours, however it is a later replacement. The blue underglaze crossed swords mark of Manufaktur Meissen until 1814 stamped in the base. The coat of arms and medals were probably not painted in Meissen, possibly done posthumously in remembrance. Various restorations due to age, e.g. one of the three pedestal legs, to the arms and fingers of the putti. Height approx. 79 cm. A formidable centrepiece. Gebhard Leberecht Blücher von Wahlstatt, nicknamed “Marschall Vorwärts”, was awarded the Pour le Mérite in 1789, the 1813 Grand Cross of the Iron Cross in 1813 and the Grand Cross that was instituted in his honour in 1815, referred to as the “Blücherstern”. 294929 II - III € 9.600
