| 119 CHINA 94 Bedeutender Bronzetorso eines Bodhisattva, China, Tang-Dynastie, 618 - 907 n. Chr. Bronze mit grünlich-bräunlicher Alterspati- na. Darstellung eines stehenden Bodhisattva in Tribhanga-Pose, das linke Knie leicht ein- geknickt. Der Körper ist mit einem in feine Falten gelegten Gewand (Dhoti) und einem um die Schultern geschlungenen Schal be- deckt. Um den Hals hängt eine fein modellier- te Kette, die über die Brust bis auf die Ober- schenkel reicht. Die fleischige, voluminöse Körperlichkeit der Figur weist auf deutliche Einflüsse aus der indischen Gupta-Periode (320 - 600) hin. Auf modernem Ständer mon- tiert. Höhe ohne Ständer 64 cm. Bronze with a greenish-brown age patina. The depiction of a Bodhisattva in standing Tribhanga pose, the left knee slightly bent. The body is clothed in a garment that is draped in fine folds (dhoti) and a scarf slung around the shoulders. A delicately modelled chain hangs around the neck, extending down over the chest to the thighs. The fleshy, full-bodied shape of the figure clearly indicates the signi­ ficant impact of the Indian Gupta period (320 - 600). Mounted on a modern stand. Height without stand 64 cm.
