| 105 A deluxe baroque flintlock rifle, Johann Andreas Kuchenreuter, Steinweg near Regensburg, circa 1760 The octagonal barrel slightly constricted in the middle with seven-groove rifled bore in 14 mm calibre. Dovetailed sights in silver and iron, the original bluing well preserved on the surface of the barrel. Scrolling bands lavishly inlaid in silver, along with the signature “Ioh. And. Kuchenreuter An Regenspurg” at the muzzle and breech. Johann Christoph Kuchenreuter’s copper-inlaid, gilt hallmark (Stöckel no. 640). Engraved tang, the blued aperture sight base with screw-mounted glass. The lock delicately engraved and chiselled with hunting motifs. Adjustable set trigger. The full stock in gracefully carved walnut with a light horn nose. Fine chip inlays in bone on the butt and around the thumb plate. The butt with a sliding lid. The furniture in fire-gilt brass, chiselled with lavish relief decoration and a depiction of game and hunters amidst rocaille ornaments. Original wooden ramrod with horn tip and threaded iron sleeve. Length 107 cm. Johann Andreas Kuchenreuter (1716 - 1795) was active in Steinweg near Regensburg. Court gunsmith to the Princely House of Thurn and Taxis. 282114 I - II € 13.000
