64 | An impressive Illyrian Greek helmet, type III A, 6th to 5th century B.C. Illyrian helmet (type III A) with rectangular face cutout, wide bush track and neck guard. The edges impressively framed by a narrow punched brass band. The bushes are closed at the front and back by a crossbar. Two pierced holes at the back between the bush track and the neck guard, and one in the centre of the forehead at the front. Good metal substance with only a few small additions and stabili­ sations. Jhdt. v. Chr. Eindrucksvoller großer illyrischer Helm mit rechteckigem Gesichtsausschnitt, breiter Buschbahn und Nackenschutz. Die Kanten durch ein schmales, punziertes Messingband eindrucksvoll gerahmt. Die Buschbahn vorne und hinten jeweils durch einen Quersteg ab­ geschlossen. Hinten zwischen Buschbahn und Nackenschutz zwei Durchbohrungen, vorne mittig über der Stirn eine. Gute Metallsub­ stanz mit nur wenigen kleinen Ergänzungen und Stabilisierungen. Maße 32 (Höhe) x 26 (Tiefe) x ca. 19 cm (Breite). Provenienz: Aus Schweizer Privatsammlung.
