Die Entwürfe für die hier noch original übernommenen feuervergoldeten Türbeschlä- ge stammen von Francois de Cuvilliés, auch die originalen Türrahmen, die schmiedeeiser- nen Angeln und der alte Schlüssel sind noch vorhanden. Die von der ehemaligen Fassung befreiten Türen sind intakt und zeigen front- seitig noch die hochfeinen Schnitzarbeiten, steingrau gefasst, rückwärtig kassettiert. Al- ters- und Gebrauchsspuren. Provenienz: Kunsthandel Fischer Böhler, München. Two exquisite South German rococo doors from Bruchsal Palace, circa 1740 Lime wood, delicately carved and painted in a whitish colour. Fire-gilt fittings and handles. The interior fittings of Bruchsal Palace, built between 1676 and 1743, were commissioned by the Prince-Bishop of Speyer, Franz Christoph of Hutten zu Stolzenberg (1706 - 1770). The work was carried out by Johann Michael Feuchtmayer the Younger (1709 - 1772), who completed his famous stucco ceilings in 1755. The designs for the fire-gilt door fittings, seen on this present lot in original condition, were by Francois de Cuvilliés, along with the origi- nal door frames. The wrought-iron hinges and the old key still in place. The former paintwork has been removed, the doors are intact and still bear the exquisite carvings on the front, paint- ed stone grey, coffered on the back. Showing traces of age and use. Re-painted.
