A Sasanian gilded silver appliqué, 6th century Large round silver appliqué designed as a three-dimensional big cat’s head. Eyes, eye- brows, lips and fangs are gilded. A wreath of cats’ backs around the round head. Recessed and later cold-worked silver plate. The edge slightly bumped and torn in places, small miss- ing part above the head. Otherwise intact .
