Schaftansatz mit reliefierter Blattzier auf pun- ziertem Fond. Großer Kugelnodus. Holzkreuz ummantelt mit mehreren genieteten Beschlä- gen aus vergoldetem Kupfer. Frontseite mit appliziertem Christuskorpus im Dreinagel­ typus aus vergoldeter Bronze sowie Maria und Johannes in den Kreuzarmen, darüber Über- reste eines adorierenden Engels. Seitlich relie- fiertes Rankenwerk. Nodus mit Dellen. Ver- schiedene Appliken am Kreuz (besonders an der Rückseite) verloren. Fuß später ergänzt, ursprünglich mit Stab. Höhe 54 cm bzw. 42 cm (ohne Fuß). A large Italian Gothic wood and gilded copper processional cross, circa 1500 Gilt copper with a wooden core. Hexagonal, stepped stand with engraved ornaments. The base of the shaft with leaf-shaped embellish- ment in relief, stippled background. Large spherical node. The wooden cross encased with several riveted fittings in gilt copper. The front with an appliquéd figure of Christ in three-nail type in gilt bronze, the Virgin Mary and John in the cross arms, above which rem- nants of an angel in adoration. Tendril decora- tion in relief on the side. The node indented. A number of appliqués have been lost (particu- larly on the back of the cross). The base a later replacement , originally with a pole.
