| 277 Ladislav Saloun (1870 - 1946) - a bronze of Miroslav Tyrs, Prague, circa 1909 Patinated bronze. Three-dimensional figure of the renowned Czech nationalist in slight contra­ pposto, his right armholding a lowered sword is turned towards the viewer. On a square plinth signed “SALOUN” on the right. Base of black- grey marble. Blade of the sword broken and well restored. Height without base 66.5 cm. Miroslav Tyrs (1832 - 1884) was a renowned Bohemian art critic, art historian and co-­ founder of the Czech gymnastics movement Sokol. Ladislav Saloun (1867 - 1942), Czech sculptor, worked in Prague. In 1912, he became a mem- ber of the Czech Academy of Sciences, in 1927, he was appointed permanent artistic con­ sultant to the city of Prague and was desig­ nated as National Artist in 1946. He is one of the most distinguished representatives of the Czech Art Nouveau symbolism. The bronze on offer is a smaller version of the Tyrs monu- ment in the Lesser Town of Prague created by him in 1909. 295140 II € 2.000 315 Arthur, König von England - Bronzefigur nach der Innsbrucker Hofkirche, 20.
