Hans Canon (1829/30 - 1885Wien), berühmter Maler des Historismus, vor demAbschluss der Kunstakademie ein Offizier der österreichi- schen Armee. Canon malte hauptsächlich im Stil des Barock, dabei waren Rubens und Tizian seine wichtigsten Vorbilder. Das Kü- chenstück wurde in der Großen Deutschen Kunstausstellung als ein positives Vorbild nationalsozialistischer Kunst ausgestellt und großzügig gelobt. Hans Canon (1829/30-1885 Vienna), famous Historicist painter, before concluding his stud- ies at the art academy he was an officer in the Austrian army. Canon painted especially in the Baroque style, Rubens and Titian were his most important role models.
