A helmet for officers of the Regiment of the Gardes du Corps with complete accessories, circa 1900 Gilt tombac skull with ridged front visor and trims, rivets and fittings of silvered nickel silver. Both visors riveted separately, vertical rear spine, elegant vertical rear visor. Large screw-mounted garde star applied with a mult i-piece enamel medallion. Convex leather-lined chinscales on screw-mounted clover leaves and both officer’s cockades. Beige lining of finest watered silk rep, both visors lined with cream-coloured leather (slightly spotty), ochre sweat band (very few minuscule losses). Removable service spike of six flutes. Including an excellently preserved silvered parade eagle with gilt crown. Com- plete with two storage cases with complete straps. Signs of use and age.
