The plate bearing the Russian double-headed eagle, also monogrammed ON, 2085 g. Dimensions of the tray 3 x 45.5 cm, platter 3 x 63.5 x 31 cm. Both pieces were commissioned as part of her dowry for Grand Duchess Olga Nikolaevna’s 18th birthday in 1840. In 1846, she married the Württemberg Crown Prince Karl Frie- drich Wilhelm (1823-1891) in St. Petersburg and became Queen of Württemberg in 1864. Her memory lives on to this day in Stuttgart, for example with the Karl-Olga Hospital, named in her honour as she was an active advocate of social and medical institutions. 275916 II + € 8.000 Lot 186
