P rovenance : From a private French collection. 275558 II € 5.000 A pair of Louis XVI girandoles in fire-gilt bronze, Paris, circa 1780/90 The original fire-gilt bronze with a polished and matte finish, with openwork and fine chiselling in places. The two-armed girandoles on a fluted stem, the lower section embellished with pendants of wreathed foliage, fruits and pine cones. The fluted sconces with acanthus leaf motifs and tendrils. The sockets with covered pans. Culminating in a neo-classical vase decorated with flames, rams’ heads and drapery pen- dants. Height 53 cm. The model probably designed by Jean-Louis Prieur.
