Impressive polearm from the Baroque era. August Wilhelm of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel was Duke of Brunswick and Lüneburg and in 1714 became Prince of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel. He was known for his extravagant and, above all, expensive lifestyle.
