Internationale Orden & militärhistorische Sammlungsstücke - A83

| 33 1023 Max Schlee Pascha (1866 – 1932) was a Major General from Württemberg. Early in 1914, he was transferred to the Ottoman army with the uniform of the field artillery regiment “Prinz regent Luitpold von Bayern” (2. Württemberg) No. 29. From 1915 until 1918, he occupied the post of inspector general of the Turkish field artillery at the “Large Headquarters” in Constantinople (in the rank of a commanding general). Since he was a member of a “Bavarian” regi- ment, he was awarded the Military Merit Order in the very rare silver-gilt issue in June 1917. Schlee was also the only Württemberg resident ever to have been awarded both Ottoman merit orders (Order of Osmaniye and Order of the Medjidie) in the 2nd Class with Sabres. Splendid clasp of great significance for military history concerning the German-Turkish alli- ance during the World War! 273828 II € 3.500
