A helmet for officers in the Guard Dragoon Regiment “Queen Victoria of Great Britain and Ireland” No. 1, circa 1900 Leather skull with angular front visor and rear rail, gilt brass fittings. Large guard eagle emblem with applied, partly enamelled guard star of nickel silver. Broad cruciform crown plate with four star screws, pearl ring and fullered unscrewable spike. Convex leath- er-backed chinscales on cockades of lacquered sheet iron. Red-brown silk rep lining, ochre-coloured leather sweatband, rear visor with red and front visor with green lining. Comes with a parade bush of white buffalo hair on a fullered gilt holder. Traces of wear and age. Extremely rare helmet in beautiful condition. 272624 II + € 3.000
