Silber, rückseitig Zarenchiffre „A I” (für Alexander I.) und eingeschlagene Trägernummer „2826”, Queröse in der Tragezeit zur Befestigung an einer Ordensspange umgeändert. Von den 4500 her- gestellten Stücken wurden 4264 verliehen. Breite 33,1 mm, Gewicht mit Ring 13,1 g. Sehr selten. St. George Cross for the Prussian Allies, Russia, circa 1839 Badge of Distinction of the Military Order, marked "A I", the cypher of Tsar Alexander I, with the bearer’s number 2826. Silver, 33.1 mm wide, weight with suspension ring 13.1 g. Modified at the time to be attached to a medal bar. This cross was awarded to the surviving Prussian veterans of the Napo- leonic wars 1813/1815. Of the 4500 decorations made, only 4264 were issued, of which supposedly 1765 were returned to the Chancellery of Russian Orders after the death of their recipients und melted down. The mark of fineness for “56” zolotniki with Kokoshnik head in the loop, an illegible manufacturer’s mark (presum- ably Eduard) stamped on the back. Dimensions 39 x 35 mm, weight 8 g. Good condition.
