Elector Frederick Augustus I of Saxony (1670 – 1733) – a magnificent money pouch, 18th century Green velvet embroidered with gold tinsel and sequins, the obverse with mirrored cypher “FA” underneath an electoral crown embroidered in red and black, the reverse decorated with flowers en suite. The seams overlaid with twisted gold tinsel, the opening on top trimmed with gold fringes. Closure of green-golden cord with gold tassels at the ends. The pink-coloured silk lining well-preserved and unfaded with a few holes. Dimensions approx. 14 x 16.5 cm. The obverse with minimally faded velvet and somewhat bleached embroidery. According to family records, this object comes from the possession of Elector Frederick Augustus I of Saxony (since 1694), who in 1697 also became King Augustus II of Poland-Lithuania.
