A large Art Nouveau trophy cup after a design by Hermann Götz, Baden, circa 1900 Chased silver, partially finely embossed, engraved and with traces 5588 5589 of gold plating. On four volute feet the round bell-shaped base signed “H. Götz inv.” Embellished with flowers and ornaments. The stem with stylised scrolling juniper leaves. Topped by the vase-shaped cup decorated with fish bladder tracery and grape leaves. Inscribed in the upper section (tr.) “DONATED BY FREDERICK GRAND DUKE OF BADEN” and two crowned shields, one with monogram. Overall in good condition. Minimally bumped. Lid missing.
