448 | An unusual Chinese, throne-like armchair, Qing dynasty, 18th century The free-standing, finely carved wooden body in black lacquer and fine gold painting, with openwork in places along with elegant, sil- ver-plated appliqués in the style of Chinese landscape painting on hanging or horizontal scrolls. The curved legs on claw and ball feet at the front supporting the elegantly curving, slightly slanted frame. On which the slightly curved armrests terminating in volutes. The chair back splendidly carved with garlands and blossoms in relief, extend- ing up to an openwork finial in the shape of a mandarin’s hat. New, elaborate webbing and upholstery, aesthetically pleasing velvet cover. Made in China for the European market. Showing traces of age and use. The lacquer scuffed in places. Auf vorderen „claw and ball feets” die geschweiften Beine. Anschließende, formschön geschwungene und leicht gebogte Zarge. Darauf die leicht geschweiften Armlehnen mit abschließenden Voluten. Die Rückenlehne prächtig reliefartig in Gir- landen und Blüten beschnitzt mit abschließender, durchbrochener Be- krönung in Form eines Beamtenhutes eines Mandarin. Aufwendige neue Gurtung und Polsterung sowie ästhetisch ansprechender Samtbe- zug. In China für den europäischen Markt gefertigt. Alters- und Ge- brauchsspuren. Lack partiell bestoßen.
