| 381 476 A fine pair of German Mannerist-style reliefs, circa 1600 Two round, turned medallions, finely sculpted and carved in boxwood, in the form of ladies wearing court dress. The medallions accurately turned, with several contours, extremely finely carved with a great many details and inscribed “R. ELISABET. ZU. HUNGERN.” and “SU- SANNAE. ZU. FRONPERG.” Inset in ebony panels. The panels in carved, hollow-fullered, ebonised and partially gilt fruitwood frames of later date. Slight signs of age. One panel with a continuous shrinkage crack.
