The iron hilt with pro- fuse gold damascening, three-dimensional in places, on a black finished background. De- piction of antique-style figures amidst trophies and decorative tendrils. The grip with the fig- ures of Jupiter and Hermes enthroned on the clouds. Other deities and allegorical figures on the guard plate, hilt and pommel. Length 88 cm.
