| 355 A silver-mounted hand-and-a-half sword in the style of circa 1560, Anton Konrad of Dresden, circa 1930 The original 15th century blade of flattened di- amond section, minor delamination in places. The silver rain chape lavishly engraved with tendrils and foliage, beautiful silver patina. The quillons angled slightly toward the blade, the broadened finials with a roped ornamen- tal rib on the front. Knuckle guard fullered on the obverse, side arms of the hilt with thumb ring on the reverse. Leather-covered grip with engraved silver sleeve. Heavy, octagonal pom- mel with floral engraving. Apart from the orig- inal blade, all components from the workshop of the famous master forger, Anton Konrad. Length 109 cm. See Sothebys July 1930, lot 96.
