A pair of North Italian fingered gauntlets, 16th century Iron, etched and with remnants of gilding. The gauntlets with taper- ing cuffs with a central ridge and roped flanges, a decorative band of graphic ornaments at the top edge, three linear ornaments on the top, the middle one with interlaced strapwork and a figure in armour, the two outer ornaments with trophy decoration. The décor continues on the metacarpi, sliding on five lames. The finger and thumb defences with overlapping scales, each with a gilt medial rib. Remnants of the lining in the cuffs, the fingers and thumbs riveted on strips of leather. Small perforation corrosions in places. Length 28 cm.
