| 207 4203 4205 Kaiser Franz I of Austria (1768 – 1835) – a personal seal 1804 – 1835 Turned wooden handle. The base and the extended oval seal surface made of brass, chiselled, crowned double-headed eagle with the breast shield “F.1.” in the collar of the Order of the Golden Fleece. Total height 85 mm. Comes with a new seal imprint. As Franz II, Franz I was the last Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation from 1792 – 1806, declaring himself Kaiser Franz I of Austria in 1804. In 1806, he divested himself of the imperial crown of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation, which had become irrelevant, thereby concluding his reign as the only double emperor in history.
