| 209 1870 Veracruz Terrakotta-Kopf eines Kriegers, Mexico, Remojadas-Kultur, ca. 100 v. Chr. - 800 n. Chr. Expressiver Terrakotta-Kopf eines Kriegers. Leicht unterlebensgroß und polychrom ge- fasst. Über der Stirn eine rote Binde und da- hinter weiterer Kopfschmuck. Haare, Augen- brauen, Pupillen, die im leicht geöffneten Mund sichtbaren Zähne und der Ohrschmuck in Schwarz. Auf dem Gesicht Reste von Brauntönen. Hohl, hinten und unten offen. Wenige kleine Teile des Kopfschmucks und der Ohrring des linken Ohres verloren. Sonst intakt ohne Ergänzungen. Auf Ständer mon- tiert. Höhe 17 cm (mit Ständer 25 cm). Eindrucksvolles Zeugnis der Remojadas-Kul- tur von der Westküste Mexikos. Provenienz: Süddeutsche Privatsammlung, erworben Anfang der 1980er Jahre in der Ga- lerie AA Antiken, München. A Mexican Veracruz terracotta head of a warrior, Remojadas, ca. 100 B.C. - 800 A.D. Expressive terracotta head of a warrior with traces of polychrome painting. At the forehead a red bandage and behind it further headgear. Hair, eyebrows, pupils, the teeth, and the ear jewellery in black chapapote coloration. Hol­ low, open at the back and at the bottom. Few small parts of the headdress and the earring of the left ear lost. Otherwise intact. On stand. Height 17 cm (with stand 25 cm). A fine example from ancient Mesoamerica! Bauchiges Keramikgefäß in Form einer breit- schultrigen Dame. Trichterförmige Öffnung am Kopf. Voluminöser Körper mit sehr brei- tem Kreuz, nur leicht angedeuteten Brüsten und stark verkürzten Armen. Die Dargestellte trägt Ohr- undHalsschmuck. DieOberarme im Schulterbereich mit aufgelegten Noppen ver- ziert. Reste schwarzer Bemalung. Am Rand gebrochen und fachmännisch geklebt, sonst intakt und ohne Ergänzungen. Höhe 27 cm. Provenienz: Privatsammlung Prof. F. C., er- worben in den 1950er Jahren in Mexiko und Italien. Nayarit figurine vessel, Mexico, 100 B.C. - A.D. 250 Ceramic vessel in the shape of a broad-shoul­ dered, voluminous lady. With traces of black colour. Broken and glued at the rim, otherwise intact.
