Runder Bronzekessel mit zwei parallel an- gebrachten Griffen, die mit Kreuzhen- kelattaschen am Gefäßkörper befestigt sind. Die Griffe mit fein tordierter Rip- pung, die Enden umgebogen und in stili- sierteWasservogelköpfe mündend. Die Kreuz- henkelattaschen direkt unterhalb der Randzier mit Nieten am runden Gefäßkörper befestigt. DieKreuzattaschen obenmit runden, massiven Ösen undmit stegförmigenKörpern, derenEn- den breiter und flacher werden, da hier die Nie- ten angebracht sind. Der leicht nach außen gewölbte Gefäßkörper unterhalb des Randes mit einem Band aus vier parallelen, umlaufenden Ritzlinien verziert. Die Standfläche ist flach. Das Gefäß besitzt ei- nen doppelten Boden. Innen stärker restaura- torisch stabilisiert und mit Ergänzungen. Schöne, olivgrüne Patina. Mit Ergänzungen. Oberfläche konservatorisch behandelt. Höhe ohne Attaschen 13 - 14 cm, mit hochgestelltem Henkel 24 cm. Maximaler Durchmesser 24 cm. Provenienz: Aus einer in Süddeutschland aufbewahrten Privatsammlung. Erworben in den 1970er - 1980er Jahren im Kunsthandel und aus deutschen Privatsammlungen. A Central European bronze cauldron with attachments for crossed handles, Hallstatt period, 8th century B.C. Round bronze cauldron with two parallel grips mounted on the body with attachments for crossed handles. The grips with finely twisted ribs, the ends bent and terminating in stylised heads of aquatic birds. The attachments for crossed handles riveted to the round body un- derneath the edge decoration. The attachments with round, massive loops on top and bar- shaped bodies widening and flattening towards the ends where the rivets are fastened. The slightly flared body is decorated with a band of four parallel, surrounding lines incised underneath the edge. The base is flat. The vessel has a double bottom. The inside restored with major reinforcements and replacements. Beautiful, olive-green patina. With replace- ments. Surface expertly conserved. Height without attachments 13 - 14 cm, with raised handle 24 cm. Maximum diameter 24 cm. P rovenance : From a private collection in southern Germany.
