138 | 1753 Eiserner Bandhelm, Mitteleuropa, spätes 5. - 6. Jhdt. Eindrucksvoll erhaltener Bandhelm vom Typ St. Vid/Narona. Die aus zwei Hälften gearbei- tete Kalotte wird durch ein Scheitelband zu- sammengehalten, das sich zum Stirnband hin von 7 auf 9,5 cm verbreitert. Das aus einem Stück gefertigte Stirnband und die Kalotten- hälften sind durch fünf Paar Dreiernieten fest miteinander verbunden. Mit Einzelnieten ist hingegen der Stirnreif an der Kalotte befes- tigt. Trotz Korrosionsspuren auf Innen- und Außenseite sehr gute Metallsubstanz. Länge 23 cm. Höhe 15.5 cm. Provenienz: Aus einer in Süddeutschland aufbewahrten Privatsammlung. Erworben in den 1970er bis 1980er Jahren im Kunsthandel und aus deutschen Privatsammlungen. A Central European iron bandhelm, late 5th - 6th century Impressively preserved St. Vid/Narona-type bandhelm. The calotte is comprised of two halves held together by a crest band that widens from 7 to 9.5 cm towards the head- band. The headband is made in one piece and the halves of the skull are fixed together with five pairs of triple rivets. The brow band is at- tached to the skull with single rivets. Streitaxt mit dünner, leicht gerundeter Klinge und Bart. Hoher, nahezu quadratischer, am- bossförmiger Nacken. Beidseitig geometri- sche Dekoration mit Punkten und Kreuzbän- dern. Exzellenter Zustand, Oberfläche nicht geschliffen. Länge 16 cm. Provenienz: Süddeutsche Privatsammlung, erworben zu Beginn der 2000er Jahre auf Sammlermärkten in Nordrhein-Westfalen, Belgien und den Niederlanden.
