120 | 1718 Groteske Bronzeminiatur des Herkules mit Keule, römisch, 1. - 2. Jhdt. Der nackte, ihtyphallische Herkules ist mit extrem verkürzten Beinen dargestellt. In der Linke die Keule, rechts einen Beutel haltend. Dieser Bildnistypus bietet eine sehr seltene, durch ihre groteske Verzerrung begeisternde Darstellung des Heros. Grüne Patina mit Erdinkrusta­ tionen. Höhe 4,1 cm. Provenienz: Aus rheinischer Privatsammlung, übernommen aus der Sammlung des Vaters, erworben in den 1960-1980er Jahren im deut- schen und belgischen Kunsthandel. Jhdt. Fein gearbeitete Büste des jugendlichen Gottes mit nacktem Ober­ körper. Im Haar ein Kranz aus Blüten. Von hinten fallen die Enden eines Haarbandes auf die Schultern. Die einst eingelegten, silbernen Augen fehlen. Sonst intakt. Hervorragende grüne und dunkelbraune Glanzpatina. Qualitätvolle Kleinbronze auf antikisierendem, blauem Sockel montiert. Dieser an der Basis bestoßen. Höhe 9,6 cm (mit Sockel 17,5 cm). Provenienz: Süddeutsche Privatsammlung, erworben Anfang der 1980er Jahre in der Galerie AAAntiken, München. 1971 in der Galerie amNeumarkt, Zürich (Lot 177), dort begutachtet durch Prof. Hansjörg Bloesch, Zürich. A Roman bronze Bacchus bust, 1st - 2nd century Finely worked bust of the youthful god with naked body. A wreath of flowers in the hair, and a hair band falls onto both shoulders. The once inlaid silver eyes are lost, otherwise intact. Excellent green and dark brown shiny patina. A small high quality bronze socketed on a blue base. The latter bumped at the base. Height 9.6 cm (with base 17.5 cm). P rovenance : South German private collection, acquired from the gallery AA Antiken, Munich, in the early 1980s.
