Legion, römisch, 2. - 4. Jhdt. Tegula-Fragment. Außer dem Abdruck einer großen Hundepfote fin- det sich noch folgender Stempel (Maße 11 cm x 3,7 cm) in einem ge- rahmten Feld: LEGXIIII G = leg(ionis) XIIII G(eminae), Produkt der 14. Legion mit dem Beinamen Gemina. Buchstabenhöhe 2,1 cm. Gut lesbarer Stempel. Maße 33,5 cm x 27 cm x 3,1 cm (mit Randleiste 6,5 cm). Die 14. Legion Gemina war seit ca. 114/117 n. Chr. für annähernd 300 Jahre in Carnuntum an der Donau stationiert. Provenienz: Aus süddeutscher Privatsammlung, in den späten 1990er Jahren übernommen aus der Sammlung des 2013 verstorbenen Groß- vaters. A Roman brick fragment with stamp of the 14th legion, 2nd - 4th century Tegula fragment. Besides the impression of a large dog’s paw the follow- ing stamp (dimensions 11 cm x 3.7 cm) is found in a framed field: LEG XIIII G = leg(ionis) XIIII G(eminae), product of the 14th Legion with the nickname Gemina. Letter height 2.1 cm. Easily readable stamp. Dimensions 33.5 cm x 27 cm x 3.1 cm (with 6.5 cm border). The 14th Legion Gemina was stationed since 114/117 A.D. for nearly 300 years in Carnuntum on the Danube frontier. Maße 20 cm x 20,3 cm x 6 cm. Provenienz: Aus süddeutscher Privatsammlung, in den späten 1990er Jahren übernommen aus der Sammlung des 2013 verstorbenen Groß- vaters. A Roman brick with G F P F-stamp, 1st - 3rd century Square building brick on which the mark G - F - P - F - is stamped in a rectangular field (dimensions 9.6 cm x 3 cm). Letter height 2,4 cm. Nice stamp on intact brick. Dimensions 20 cm x 20.3 cm x 6 cm. Legion, römisch, 2. Hälfte 1. Jhdt. - 3. Jhdt. Tegula-Fragment mit sohlenförmigem Stempel (Maße 14,2 cm x 2,4-3,8 cm, Buchstabenhöhe 1,7 cm). Die Mitte ist kaum lesbar: LE X[I]CPF = le(gionis) X[I] C(laudiae) P(iae) F(idelis), (Produkt/Ziegel der) 11. Le- gion, der claudischen, der treuen und zuverlässigen. Die 11. Legion erhielt den Ehrennamen Claudia Pia Fidelis nach 42. n. Chr., da sie während des Aufstandversuchs des Lucius Arruntius Ca- millus Scribonianus treu zu Kaiser Claudius stand. Dazu ein Ziegelfragment mit einem anepigraphischen Stempel. Ein linksläufiges Swastika-Motiv in einem Kreis (Durchmesser ca. 10 cm). Maße 15,5 cm x 11 cm x 5 cm. Provenienz: Aus süddeutscher Privatsammlung, in den späten 1990er Jahren übernommen aus der Sammlung des 2013 verstorbenen Groß- vaters. Two Roman brick fragments, one with stamp of the 11th legion, 2nd half of the 1st century - 3rd century Tegula fragment with sole-shaped stamp (dimensions 14.2 cm x 2.4-3.8 cm, letter height 1.7 cm). The centre is barely legible: LE X[I]CPF = le(gionis) X[I] C(laudiae) P(iae) F(idelis), product/ brick of the) 11th Legion, the Claudian, the faithful and reliable. The 11th Legion received the name “Claudia Pia Fidelis” after A.D. 42, since she stood faithfully to emperor Claudius during the revolt attempt of Lucius Arruntius Camillus Scribonianus.
