| 95 A deluxe percussion target rifle, J.G. Zeller, Arnheim, circa 1855 Octagonal barrel, the front two thirds with deep fullers. Recessed muzzle, mirror-like eight-groove rifled bore in 10.5 mm calibre. Dovetailed adjustable sights. At the breech sig- nature “J.G. Zeller in Arnhem” inlaid in gold. Small corrosion pit on the left underneath the signature. Finely engraved and chiselled tang with inserted precision aperture sight. Lock cut with hunting scene in half relief, finely engraved cock. Adjustable set trigger. Elabo- rately carved half stock with fine chequering and nose of dark horn. On the butt depiction of William Tell with his son, on the check rest a giant schnauzer fighting with a wolf. Finely engraved and cut iron furniture. On the butt cap engraved French national coat of arms with patent inscription. Wooden ramrod with brass tip. Length 129.5 cm.
