40 | A Bohemian deluxe wheellock rifle with rich bone veneer, circa 1680/1700 Octagonal barrel slightly indented in the mid- dle with seven-groove rifled bore in 16 mm calibre. Dovetailed iron sights. The muzzle and the base of the barrel decorated with scrollwork inlaid in silver, at the breech a brass-inlaid portrait bust. Lock with semi-internal wheel, the cover with finely engraved garland. Lock plate with depiction of an alle- gorical figure on a trophy bundle. Lock screws with wings. Set trigger. Walnut full stock finely carved with rocailles and lavishly decorated with dots and filigree inlaid in bone. Under- neath the lock plate cracked, isolated small losses. A plaque inlaid in the cheek rest with depiction of Athena on a trophy bundle, on the butt a bone plate with trophy bundle and own- er’s monogram “CT”. The sliding lid of the patch box made of finely grained root wood and engraved bone. Butt cap of light-coloured horn. Engraved iron trigger guard, wooden ramrod with bone tip. Length 103.5 cm.
