Finely matted rib with fixed rear sight and two folding rear sights, the latter with platinum inlays, dis- tance markers for 50, 80 and 120 yards. Gold-inlaid on left barrel “R. B. Rodda &Co. Makers by Appointment to H. E. the Viceroy”, on right barrel “H. R. H. The Duke of Edinburgh. London & Calcutta.”. Browning of barrels patinated, in places minimal pits. Underlever breech with extractor, hammer locks with safety notch, double trigger. Break-down frame and lock plates finely engraved with rocailles and arabesques. On both lock plates gold-inlaid manufacturer’s name in English lettering “R. B. Rodda &Co”. Former case hardening of break- down frame, trigger guard and locks darkened/patinated, with usage marks. Dark walnut stock with pistol grip and German cheek. Fine chequering on forearm and pistol grip. Red natural rubber butt cap, aged and deformed. Basis of rubber butt cap chipped.
