A uniform ensemble for enlisted men of the Guard Cuirassier Regiment, late 19th century Helmet M 1867 with tombac skull (small dents), ridge at the back (soldered crack), ridged front visor, nickel-silver trim, on the rear visor “GKR.”, nickel-silver guard star applied on the forehead and attached with a leather wedge, in the centre a brass medallion with central embossed eagle lacquered in black, convex, leather-backed chinscales on geometrical rosettes, on the right the large national cockade of lacquered sheet iron, the crest with nickel-silver base (stamped “GKR 3E” at the bottom) with four ball heads and parade eagle for enlisted men (one crown clasp on the reverse is missing), good black lining with leather flaps (small cracks), the front visor lacquered in green on the underside, the movable rear visor backed with black leather. Steel cuirass with appliqués of non-ferrous metal, surrounding round heads of non-ferrous metal, the back with matching features and attached leather-backed chain straps. Breast and back plates with old lining, the breast with wearer’s label “Gr. v. Schmettow 3. Eskadron”. Leather cartridge box with applied embossed guard star, intact straps and recently replaced bandolier. Comes with a white belt with dark blue borders, guard braiding, blue piping and cuffs, white metal buttons, hook closure and cloth shoulder boards. Hanger for edged weapons of white leather. Russian-style broadsword as a depot piece with identical number (length 114 cm) with stamp “Gebrüder Weyersberg Solingen” on the blade (rubbed), the back of the blade with crown/FW 56, the guard plate with crown/FW 55 and “G.K.4.93”, at the top of the scabbard “G.K.4.93”, hilt of non-ferrous metal with leather-covered grip (wire wrap is missing), lanyard replaced. Comes with a pair of delicate light-coloured leather gloves. Furthermore, a pair of cuirassier boots of black leather with leather soles and attached spurs, pull straps on the inside.
