A grenadier cap for officers of the Kaiser Alexander Guard Grenadier Regiment No. 1, from 1896 onwards Brass front panel (remnants of gilding) trimmed with dark blue cloth with appliquéd silver guard star and medallion in coloured enamel below a silver royal crown. The convex chinscales in gilt, non-ferrous metal, backed with leather. Ponceau-red cloth bag (occasional minor defects and repairs, reinforced by means of aluminium rods) with silver braid interwoven in black (tarnished). White cloth band with three appliquéd grenade symbols of gilt, non-ferrous metal, chinscales with leather underlay. Pompon of silver bullion fringes inserted on top, the upper side in black velvet. Black lining with leather flaps Slightly damaged in places, signs of age and wear. From 1896, the grenadiers of the Alexander Regiment received new front panels without the two holes for the Semper Talis banner of the parade caps, which were adopted from the 1st Guard Regiment on foot.
