The boss with iron reinforcement ring on one side and four (of six) screws, beside it applied Pour le Mérite of copper and enamel (minor losses), fixed with four pins through the eagle’s wings, and a reduced-size version of the Military Pilot Badge. Surmounted by a copper dedication plaque with engraved inscription „Oblt. H. Göring z.fr. Er. an d. 7. Juli 1918 die Geschwader Kameraden“. The longer end of the propeller wing with applied flat copper model of an aircraft. Overall length 96 cm, thickness of the propeller with eight glue-laminated layers 12.5 cm. After his time as observer with his friend Bruno Loerzer, Göring became a pilot himself in 1915 and achieved his first aerial victory in November 1915. In May 1917, he took over the command of the Jasta 27, in August 1917, he was appointed first lieutenant and was awarded the Pour le Mérite after his 19th shootdown in June 1918.
