Chased décor on all sides with wild boar, hound and stag, surrounded by tendrils. Oval, conical ivory body, continuously carved in high relief with a hunting scene featuring wild boar. Extremely detailed depiction of both figures and landscape. The ivory handle in the shape of a fully sculptured hound. Distinctly domed, hinged lid in silver, the design matching the base. Palmette thumb rest. The ivory finial shows a wild boar fighting with a hound. The underside with a proof mark and two illegible stamps (made-up marks, probably Hanau). The base and knob slightly loose (some movement). The top branch slightly knocked, otherwise in good condition. Dimensions 22 x 16 cm, total weight 615 g. Very fine ivory carving.
