I.” (Kaiser Ferdinand I of Austria, 1835 - 1848) appliquéd in the centrewith a palmette frieze border. Protective bars (side forks) on the side of the skull. The chinscales made of several pieces (unusual scale pattern) with leather underlay, on finely raised lion’s heads. The black leather liner with a gold-embossed border. Also includes the breastplate in black lacquered sheet metal with gilt brass fittings, brass bands fixed along the edges with round-headed pins, unusually shaped brass-plated medial ridge. Two screw-mounted shoulder straps with heart-shaped perforations and reddish velvet lining. The inner surface of the breastplate tinned, the lining and rear section of the carrying straps have been lost. Slightly damaged in places, signs of wear and age. Extremely rare, early helmet in beautiful condition, even including the wool crest that is often missing. 316110 II € 15.000
