An Eastern European sword, Hungarian period, 10th - 11th century Minimally curved blade, mostly blunt on the back and only double-edged in front of the tip (approx. 16 cm). Upper section of the blade approx. 28 mm wide, with approx. 12 cm wide bevel. 10.7 cm long tang, minimally curved in the opposite direction to the blade, with a groove along the length on one side and a rivet hole in the lower part. 8 cmwide, slightly curved crossguard, on the front side with a roof-shaped profile and four-faceted, diamond-shaped elevation, round knobs at the ends; flat on the back. Total length 82.3 cm. Minimal rust scars and chips on the blade. Extremely well-preserved, professionally restored, desalinated and stabilized iron sword. Im oberen Teil mit stumpfem Rücken leicht gekrümmtes Schwert mit ca. 12 mm breiter Fase, das im unteren, zweischneidigen Teil stärker abbiegt. Oben trapezoide, nach innen abgesetzte Griffangel, auf der Schauseite mit Hohlkehle und mit zwei Nietlöchern. Unterhalb der Griffangel mit Eisenblech aufgesetzte Fehlschärfe, die mit einem ca. 18 mm breiten Band um die stumpfe Seite der Klinge verläuft und vor der Schneide zu einem 53 cm langen Fortsatz ausgezogen ist. Dieser auf der Schauseite breiter und am Rand wellenförmig profiliert. Leicht gekrümmte, kurze Parierstange (6,6 cm lang), in der Mitte bandförmig, an den Enden rundstabig mit abschließendem Knubbel. An Eastern European sword, Kipchak period to early Mongol period, 12th - 13th century Slightly curved sword in the upper part with a blunt back, which bends more sharply in the lower, double-edged part. Trapezoidal, inwardly offset handle tang at the top, with a groove on the front side and two rivet holes. Below the tang there is a ricasso attached with sheet iron, which runs with an approx. 18 mm wide band around the blunt side of the blade and has a 53 cm long extension in front of the cutting edge. This is broader on the front side and has a wavy profile on the edge. Slightly curved, short crossguard (6.6 cm long), band-shaped in the middle, round bar at the ends with a final knob. Total length 86 cm. Minimal rust scars and chips on the blade. Extremely well-preserved, professionally restored, desalinated and stabilized iron sword. Rare, especially in this excellent condition.
