Description

Broad, slightly curved blade with double-edged point and flat fullers on both sides. The base of the blade etched with crowned coat of arms on one side, the opposite side with motto “Vivat Maria Theresia, Regina Hungaria et Bohemiä”. Brass knuckle-bow hilt with long languet and remnants of fire-gilding. Grip with finely pearled ray skin cover. Pommel cap with flat, riveted finial engraved with shell pattern. Original scabbard of brass sheet with two movable suspension rings. The back of the scabbard with two additional loops attached in old times with soft solder for mounting it on a wall. Length 91.5 cm.Rare, unusually well-preserved officer’s sabre from the time of the Silesian Wars.Condition: II Questions about the lot?
