Description

Modern figurative sculpture of a prostrate man in expressive combination of body tension and vulnerability. On a wooden pedestal. Signed "DD" and stamped. Height 16 cm. Length 29 cm. In its basic posture the scene is reminiscent of the ancient Hellenistic marble sculpture of the dying Gaul, but the scene varies in many details. The artist thus created a sculpture of a very special value.

Provenance: Private collection of the Oscar prize winner Arthur Cohn.
