Description

An unusually large, disc-shaped pendant, made from a giant clam shell (Tridacna gigas) with an openwork ornament in tortoise shell tied to the front. Suspended on a braided string of natural fibres. Comes with base. Diameter 18.5 cm
Kap kap ornaments were usually worn on the forehead. By contrast, kap kap pendants are extremely rare.
Provenance: Bedeutende belgische Privatsammlung.
