Cal. 10x31 R Mauser, Nr. ohne, bright bore with four grooves, fixed barrel, 188 mm long. Overall length 292 mm. The sights are composed of a fixed V-shaped rear sight notch cut into a rise of the frame and a crescent shaped looped front sight. Barrel and frame are fixed and form a unit, underneath the barrel the housing for the hammer spring. On the left side oft he frame five lines "Patent / Gebr. Mauser & Cie / Oberndorf a/N / Württemberg / 1876" next to the safety lever. Chequered trigger. Barrel, hammer spring housing and block largely bright and with fine spots. Thinly blued and patinated frame, spotty grip straps. Safety with traces of blue. Dark walnut grip panels with fine chequering. Lanyard ring. Designed as a side arm for officers.
