DescriptionCal. .500/.465 NitroExpress (not .465H&HBeltMag as written in the catalog!), SN. 32066, barrel length 61 cm, bright bores. The needle-etched barrel bar approx. half the length of the barrels, with solid standing rear sight and two folding leaf sights for 100 and 200 yards, these apparently reworked and reblued. Ramped front sight with foldable sight for a twilight shot. The barrels marked "Holland & Holland, 98. New Bond Street, London. .465 Bore. Rim Cartridge". The finish of the barrels 99% plus. Double Purdey underbolts. Ejectors. Valid English proof marks. Steel action bar. Sidelock action with cocking indicator. Tang safety. The lower side of the action marked "Royal Ejector". The entire action and the trigger guard colour case hardened and covered in delicate arabesque engraving. Double trigger. The stock of selected burl wood, the rear sling swivel removed, the hole professionally plugged. Anson forend release. The butt with German cheek piece, a butt stock extension and a vented butt cap. Pistol grip with engraved hinged grip cap, next to it a gilt oval with the initials of the previous owner. Length of pull 38 cm, overall length 106 cm. With a later wooden case covered in brown leather and lined with dark-green baize. Brass fittings. A black leather label in the lid with the Holland & Holland company name in golden letters. Lateral compartment with dummy cartridges and cleaning kit. No key. Dimensions 77 x 23 x 9 cm. A second and older wooden case is also included, the leather cover pretty worn, brass fittings, red baize lining, the carrying handle damaged (reparable), label of Holland & Holland in the lid, grease cup and cleaning kit. No key. Dimensions 74 x 19 x 8,5 cm. An exquisite side-by-side rifle in as-new condition.
