DescriptionTwo-stage, smooth-bore barrel, octagonal then hexadecagonal (16 sided), in 12.5 mm calibre. The barrel maker's signature "GIO. BATTA. GUERINI" struck at the breech. The domed lock plate engraved with the signature "Vincenzo Morino". The lock plate and cock deeply etched with decorative tendrils. The full stock in beautifully grained walnut, the forearm attached in old times. Several restored fractures on the forearm, the nose section replaced. The superbly wrought, deeply chased iron furniture depicting serpents amidst floral tendrils. The trigger guard inscribed "N 15. R 12". Chiselled iron ramrod pipes, replacement wooden ramrod with horn tip. The screws of the trigger guard and one lock screw replaced in modern times. Length 46.5 cm.
