Description
Slender thrusting blade of triangular section with fullered sides. Iron hilt cut with raised decoration on a finely chiselled, gilt ground. Parts of the bars and the edges of the guard plate decorated with tendrils finely inlaid in gold. The guard plate, quillons and pommel decorated with idealised monarchs’ heads in antique style, perhaps depiction of Louis XV and his spouse. Grip with original silver wire wrap and Turks’ heads.
