DescriptionThe slightly curved, double-edged blade of wootz-Damascus (pitted in places) with a pronounced medial ridge on each side. The European steel quillons probably of later date. The delicately carved ivory handle with silver ferrule and grip frames. The pommel carved in the shape of a double-headed beast, with a dog and a lion. The inset gemstone still preserved in one eye. Riveted silver button. The wooden scabbard covered in red velvet with brass mounts.
