Large gilded anthropomorphic vessel based on a model in the Museo del Oro

Description

A modern masterpiece, very accurate to the original ritual vessel in the shape of a female chieftain. Made by a Colombian goldsmith in the 1960s (the original is exhibited in the Museo del Oro in Bogotá). The gilded vessel has an opening at the top with a reinforced rim and inside a 31 cm long gilded pin (the original in the MdO is without pin). At the bottom with two pins for attachment to the base. Hallmarked on the left foot "24K GB GC". Height without base ca. 30.5 cm, weight 894 g.
Very decorative figure, acquired in Bogotá in the 1960s.
