A small photograph album, bound in leather (the cover loose, dimensions 14 x 20 x 1 cm) containing approx. 50 black and white photographs in photo corners dating from 1911 to 1937, including uniforms, a balloon, aircraft, aerial photographs etc. Also approx. 120 separate pictures mounted on card, one-sided, labelled, including positions, balloons, a rail gun, private photographs of the Brest-Litovsk negotiation etc. Moreover, approx. 160 letters and postcards from the front dated 1914 - 1917 as correspondence with the Heinrich Sievers family of Kassel. Some slightly damaged, signs of age.
Hans Sievers served in 1913 as a one-year volunteer in the 1st Company of the Airship Battalion 4, in 1914 in the Feldtrupp 15 for navigable airships (Brussels), in 1916 in the Observation Balloon Division 38 and in 1918 as adjutant in the FLA 22 (Grodno) and later in SA-Fliegersturm Kassel. He participated in missions at the Western and Eastern Front.
Interesting, rare material of museum quality.
