DescriptionThe tombac skull ridged at the back, an emblem in the shape of an appliquéd guard star with a black eagle, fixed by means of a leather wedge, convex tombac chinscales on screw rosettes, Prussian cockade, appliquéd parade eagle (the underside of the plaque marked "58") with a screw-mounted crown, brown leather liner, the front visor lacquered green underneath and black rear visor (scuffed). Also includes the service spike. Moreover, the parade cuirass with appliqués in non-ferrous metal, a continuous border of gilt rivets, appliquéd FR breast shield (the small cipher "W II"), the shoulder area stamped "W J", "III" and "12", light-coloured original lining (the wearer's name "... orsch"), same design on the back. Slightly damaged in places, minor old repairs, the surfaces with patina, abraded, small indentations. Unusual, highly distinguished ensemble worn by a Prussian guards unit.
