Ink on paper. One double sheet inscribed on three pages. A list with the names of French military attachés requested by the King of Holland. Four hand-written notes, hand-written signatures "Np" and "Nap". Napoleon declined two generals with the note "refusé" and marked the other names with "accordé si cet officier le désire" (accepted, if desired by the officer) or "accordé à la meme condition" (accepted under the same conditions). Slightly darkened, slightly torn at the edges, creases, the writing partially rubbed. Dimensions 33 x 21.5 cm.
Louis Napoléon Bonaparte (1778 – 1846) was the younger brother of Napoleon I and reigned as King of Holland between 1806 and 1810. Aufgrund eines am 18. November 2021 erhobenen Anspruchs des französischen Verteidigungsministeriums auf Herausgabe „nationalen Kulturguts“ wird dieses Los unter Vorbehalt verkauft. The sale of this item is conditional, due to a demand presented this November 18th by the French Ministry of Defense to restitute this lot as “cultural heritage”.
